Courage

Introduction

If you are unsure of a course of any action, do not attempt it. Your doubts and hesitation will infect your execution and output. Timidity is dangerous. It is better to enter with boldness. Any mistakes you commit through audacity are easily corrected with more audacity. Everyone admires the bold; no one honors the timid (Robert Green).

Planning or Fantasy?

One of the many problems that plague most people in executing their dream is timidity. Everyone desire in one way or the other to be great. We all want people to accord us respect and right place. We dream big and plan all the way leaving no stones untouched. We see the road with so much clarity.

At the last minute, most people pull out. They shrink and take a bow. Why? We want to be loved by everyone. We do not want to court controversies. We do not to be slandered. Sometimes, we color our timidity as a form of love for our loved ones. We coat it as a form of emotional attachment.

Great leaders of the past and present understand that without appropriate courage to act, all the act of planning make us look like a paragon of timid. Napoleon learnt courage at the war front. He understood that war situation was a matter of life and death. Only the courageous can live and become a hero; not the timid.

Take your Chance

As you begin planning your days, years and life, courage to act is the ingredient that gives it substance. Your days and years of planning will be a wasted effort if you lack courage to act through. In order to seen and heard, you must be audacious and courageous. You are the only one who can determine your success and future.

In order to be successful in your chosen career or life task, you must practice and develop boldness. Also, your fear about consequences of your action may have exaggerated beyond proportion. Being timid and bold are both acquired skill. If you are timid, you can unlearn it. If you are not courageous, you can learn how to be courageous. Remember, lion creates no gaps in his way – his movement are too swift, his jaws too quick and powerful.

Conclusion

Finally, planning should precede bold moves. Courageous moves on your dream and life task should be tactical. It should not be deployed at all times: Like an army general, you must understand when to launch an attack and retreat. Nevertheless, planning should precede courageous moves at all time.

Go and succeed. God bless you.
